There are many resources for anyone that wants to learn how to cope in a disaster situation. Let's face it, no matter what your politics are it is only a matter of time before something gives. We may very well end up in a situation with no power, no grocery store, no heat, no anything that modern living has taught us are 'essential'.
It's important to know how to take care of you and your family in a S* Hit The Fan situation or SHTF in prep-speak. Also commonly referred to as TEOWAKI or The End of the World As We Know It. Doesn't matter what you call it, we have to survive it.
When, not if, there is a time where you need to take care of yourself, the books and reading material listed below can help. Included on this page is a link to Amazon's free reading app- you don't need a Kindle to readle Kindle books. I have a beat up Windows phone and have over 800 books in my library. You don't need to be online to read the books- download as many as you can on an old phone and keep it charged with a solar charger. Much easier than lugging a box of books. Just make sure it's charged, kept in a ziptop plastic baggie, and check it once a month to be sure the app is still working correctly.
